I'm Dan Storey,  an R.F.U Level 3 coach with over 15 years experience.

Before becoming a coach I was a professional rugby player, playing scrum half for England U18’s and was then signed by Doncaster Knights as a full time professional at the age of 20. I combined this with gaining a degree in Health-Related Exercise and Fitness from Leeds Metropolitan University, giving me an extensive insight into life in the professional game while studying and the time management pressures associated with combining rugby and education.

While playing professionally, I began to engage in my passion for coaching. This has led to me working as a specialist rugby coach and then developing through to being Head Coach in clubs, state and independent schools across the region, including Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Wakefield, Worksop College and Mount St Mary’s College.

I also have considerable experience of working on the England Rugby Development Pathway having worked for Yorkshire U16’s as their Backs and Attack coach.

With his extensive experience, I'm uniquely placed to offer first class professional coaching to young players, whether they be beginning in the game or looking towards playing at a very high level. With this experience in schools, I understand the pressures that are put on young people and can produce excellent programmes that fit around the commitments that young people have to their school or university lives while still encouraging them to stretch and challenge themselves.
